I am a confident and motivated graduate in the field of Diagnostic Molecular Biology and Human Genetics. I like everything concerning human genetic and molecular biology and am seeking challenging work that will allow me to expand my knowledge, build on my skills and achieve further professional development. The cytogenetic field has had some degree of special appeal to me. From my first course, many questions have occurred in my mind concerning how chromosomes align so perfectly during mitosis. Cytogenetics seems to be a dynamic field, both in technological developments and clinical applications. Other reasons for my special interest developed when I attended a practical training in this field. There I learned methods of culturing and harvesting for chromosomal ysis and FISH from various tissues as well as karyotyping. As a possible career opportunity, cytogenetics requires people who enjoy independent, meticulous, microscopic work, and are comfortable with a high degree of responsibility. In addition, I believe it will be important to grasp new ideas and concepts quickly to keep growing with this field of study. I believe my interests, knowledge, skills and abilities seem to fit cytogenetics and am hopeful it can provide great career satisfaction for me while serving in a vital health care role.
