The rapture and faith?

So I have a thought about this whole rapture thing. Christians work all their lives to become good and just in the eyes of God but if you don't make the cut and you are here for the rapture...you get a chance to 'change' yourself. Doesn't that seem a bit unfair to all the hard working Christians that worked all their lives to go to heaven? I mean, if god does come and take all the Christians then I would be like “oh so he is real” and become a true 100% instantaneously because I will know he exists via proof thus when some lynch mob kills me I would go to heaven... Unfair in my mind but I accept!
