Where can I put my cat when I have guests over for dinner?

I am having guests over in a few weeks and I live in a small apartment. We have 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Since the place is so congested, we need to have some of our guests in the bedroom and some in the living room, but I don't know what to do with kitty when we serve dinner. He is likely to stick his face in the food (because he does that to me all the time). What can I do with him during dinner time?
